Day 01: Arrive Paro – Thimphu:

Arrive Paro (By Druk Air/Bhutan Airline), after immigration and customs formalities, you will be received by our representative and drive to Thimphu (45 Kms, 01 Hr Drive en-route stop for a while to view Tamchog Monastery built by Thangthong Gyalpo. 

On arrival check in at hotel. In the evening, visit Memorial Chorten, a monument dedicated to the Third King of Bhutan. Followed by a visit to Buddha Dordenma Statue – This massive statue of Shakyamuni measures in at a height of 51.5 meters. Overnight at Hotel

Day 02: Thimphu:

After breakfast visit National Postal Museum, which is worth a visit for you can get your own picture on Bhutanese stamp right then and there. Visit Takin Preserve center.  Visit Simply Bhutan – Simply Bhutan is an interactive ‘living’ museum that gives a good guided introduction to various aspects of Bhutanese traditional life. 

Afternoon visit the National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts followed by visit to Painting School. In the evening Tashichho Dzong – This fortress serves as the office of the King, ministers and various government organizations. Overnight at Hotel

Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha:

After breakfast drive to Punakha (85 Kms, 02 Hrs Drive), the old winter capital. Leaving Thimphu the road climbs via a series of zigzags over the Dochu La Pass, 10,000ft/3,048m.  

In the afternoon hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the divine mad monk’s temple. It is a beautiful walk through a lovely village. Also visit the courtyard of Punakha Dzong. Overnight at Hotel

Day 04: Punakha – Paro: 

After breakfast, drive to Paro (120 Kms, 03 Hrs Drive). While in Paro, visit Ta dzong, an ancient watchtower, which has been, since 1967, the national museum of Bhutan then visit (Paro Dzong) built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. 

Later check in at Hotel and visit the Drukgyel dzong, now in ruins was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate the victory over the Tibetan invaders in1644; the dzong name’s means indeed “victorious Druk “. Then visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred monasteries dating from the introduction of Buddhism in the 8th century. Overnight at Hotel

Day 05: Paro:  

After early breakfast excursion to Taktsang Monastery. A short drive takes us to Satsam Chorten, the trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of the trees festooned with Spanish moss, and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags. hike up to Taktsang Monastery, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. 

In the evening, visit to the farmhouse to see the typical lifestyle of Bhutanese way of life. Overnight at Hotel

Day 06: Paro – Back Home:

After breakfast transfer to Paro Airport and fly to onward destination.
